Letting Go

One thing I have realised of late is just how natural the process of letting go is.

Each day we let go of old beliefs, old ways of thinking and old habits that just dont serve us anymore. Often they may be so small we dont even notice we have let them go and then other times they are so big that we are kind of ‘frozen in time or limbo’ while we adjust.

In either case, its a natural evolvement. Nature evolves like this too. Its the cycle of life.

How do we know we are letting go of the old?

Trish Rock https://trishrock.comIf you are someone who is consciously moving towards becoming more, desiring more and stepping into the life you know you can have, then letting go will play an enormous part in that. We cannot move forward with the ‘old stuff’. This includes our thoughts, patterns, beliefs, habits and to a certain degree even the physical elements around us such as clutter and ‘hanging on’ to people, situations and things that are not serving our new beliefs.

Now this doesnt mean we automatically just go and dump everything and start anew! Its a gradual process as we move forward and it actually will seem quite natural as it is happening.

This is also the point at which many people stop their growth.

Frightened of the letting go of what they have come to know. Not knowing what is on the other side of the change and not having enough faith in themselves to trust the process. And thats ok. (Everyone has their own journey and purpose here in this lifetime and there is no race or time limit to gaining a better understanding of the creator that we are. We are all evolving, no matter what.)

I have also found that sometimes I dont realise I am letting go of something until I feel the emotion, the sadness, in my body. Some days I will just begin crying for no apparent reason but when I take a quiet moment to ask why (your angels/source are always listening and answering) I discover that another old belief or thought pattern has been dissolved. I guess the ego likes to feel sad about this as its another false belief usually that has been replaced with the truth of who I am.

Does this happen to you too?

Let go and let God

There are times when we can be so resistant to change that it begins to affect our body, our health and our state of mind (attitude). Hanging on to resistance, trying to remain in control of our circumstances and other people, contracts our energies and this then shows in the body. It may be big, or become big over time in the form of dis ease or ailments or it may just be restricted movement in certain areas of the body, depending upon the area of life we are resisting or suppressing.

I came across this beautiful poem I thought I would share with you. Its about just letting it all go. Just BEing. It is written in the female energy however I feel the same process applies to men and women. We ALL hang on to things for too long sometimes.

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t call the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

May you enjoy the process of letting go, moving forward, adopting new beliefs and thought patterns and embracing every moment in pure trust and knowing that as you become more of who you really are, many of the things that matter to you now will lose their importance. The life cycle happens consciously or unconsciously.

Try letting go of some of the resistance towards control too. It will make a big difference to your state of health and mind. Even if you can only manage a few moments to begin with, its a start!
